Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is recommended for learners already working or preparing to work in the industry and to provide candidates, who are responsible for the welfare of infants and children, with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to support first aid and the use of a defibrillator in the workplace.
How long will it take?
To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake approximately 1 day of learning.
Topics covered
These include: understanding the role of the paediatric first aider; assessing emergency situations and acting safely and effectively; providing first aid for an infant and a child: who are unresponsive and breathing normally and who are unresponsive and not breathing normally; who is wounded and bleeding, who is suffering from shock and the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Highfield recommends that you contact the relevant government department in the country that you want to deliver the training to ensure that there are no additional approval requirements. It may be that you are required to register as a training provider within the country itself. Highfield approves Centres based on its own criteria, and does not represent any other organisations or departments.
