Who is this qualification for?

This qualification has been developed to support learners completing the Commis Chef Apprenticeship Standard and can be used to assess their readiness for end point assessment. This Diploma covers the knowledge, skills and behaviour pass criteria of the standard, as described in the relevant Assessment Plan (ST0228/AP01).

The qualification is also designed as a stand-alone qualification for those learners wishing to gain a nationally-recognised qualification in commis chef principles and practices.

How long will it take me to achieve this qualification?

The total qualification time for this qualification is 560 hours, of which 499 are recommended as guided learning hours.

Topics include culinary knowledge, skills and behaviours, as well as food safety, working with people and business.

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by portfolio of evidence.
